Mayor’s Message

“Radisson offers a slower pace of life, friendly neighbourhoods and affordable housing which is the reason we are attracting so many newcomers seeking to buy their first home.”

Duane Flath, Mayor, Town of Radisson

If you “google” the word Radisson you will no doubt find everything you need to know about the Radisson Hotel chain.  But Radisson around these parts is actually a lovely community located on Highway 16 (the Yellowhead) halfway between Saskatoon and North Battleford.

Radisson is a town named after Pierre-Esprit Radisson – an explorer who was instrumental in creating the Hudson’s Bay Company.

Radisson offers a slower pace of life, friendly neighbourhoods and affordable housing which is the reason we are attracting so many newcomers seeking to buy their first home.

Radisson was founded in 1905, incorporated as a village in 1906 and as a town in 1913.  It boasts a swimming pool, communiplex, curling rink, grocery store, hardware, gas and liquor store, a restaurant and bars, a library, top notch ball diamonds, and a community spirit like no other.  On the last Sunday of July each year, come to Radisson to see one of the best Car Shows in the province. Sit back to enjoy a homemade piece of pie and toe-tapping live music. Our annual Agricultural Fair held the second weekend of August has been running for over 100 years! And showcases tractor pulls, exhibits, gymcana, slow-pitch tournament, petting zoo for the kids – the list goes on. Parades, fireworks and so much more can be enjoyed in this town, not to mention The Sesula Mineral and Gem Museum with a baby T-Rex! It is the only museum of its kind in North America and boasts the largest private collection of rocks and gems in Western Canada. The Farmers Market also starts May long and ends in the first week of October!

Whether it’s Radisson’s new EV charger stations, our local Farmers’ Market that runs on Fridays, ball games, swim lessons, WheatKing hockey games, or just the peace and quiet of small-town charm within an easy drive of two large cities, this is a great place for you to call home.

Come check us out.  You won’t be disappointed.
