Urgent Message from Mayor Bennett
Last night, The Town of Radisson Council and staff discussed how COVID-19 could affect our community. We discussed measures that we can take to minimize the impact on our citizens. Taking into consideration the advice of our provincial and federal governments, following in the lead they have taken in the matter, the following decisions were made:
The Town of Radisson office will be closed until further notice. Office staff will still be working to ensure critical tasks are accomplished. Ratepayers can make arrangements with the office staff to ensure bills and taxes are paid on time, and various other functions are performed in a timely fashion, whenever possible. As well, in the event that space is required by emergency personnel as they handle the pandemic, this building will be clean and available.
Effective Immediately, all municipal buildings used for operations, including the water plant, lift station, fire hall, workshop, and well shacks, will have access limited to key personnel and only for critical operational tasks. Visitors and Guests will not be permitted access for any reason.
All other Municipal buildings for public use, Skating Rink, Curling Rink will be closed indefinitely. No person(s) will be allowed in or out of the building, for any reason, except key personnel directly employed by the Town of Radisson. This extreme measure has been carefully considered. The safety of our many users and their guests is the critical factor.
Regarding the Fire Hall, Chief Werezak has been consulted with this decision and it is understood that they provide a critical service. Radisson Fire & Rescue will still remain operational as the services they provide to the public will remain their top priority.
Best Regards,
Leona Bennett
