Town Council

Duane Flath, Mayor
I was born and raised on a farm located 2 miles west of Radisson. I married Doreen Hamel, and together we have three children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. My career includes over ten years of service as the town foreman for Radisson, during which time I also served as a member of the Radisson Fire Department and sat on the Saskatchewan West school board.
In 1997, my wife and I relocated to Bonnyville, Alberta, where I initially worked as a truck driver before securing a position with an oil company. Through dedication and hard work, I advanced to the role of foreman. When the company was sold, my wife and I returned to Saskatchewan, eventually settling back in Radisson, which we have always considered our home.
Upon discovering an opening for a councilor in Radisson, I stepped forward to fulfill this role. Subsequently, when the mayoral election approached, I decided to run for the position of Mayor.

Diane Rimmer, Councilor
After nearly 50 years in television broadcasting both at the U of S and CFQC-TV (CTV), Diane is proud to be a member of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters’ Quarter Century Club.
Diane took early retirement in 2015 and is happy to call Radisson home as a lot of her childhood was spent on the family farm in Fielding.
Diane and her husband Dennis live with their dog Holly and feline companion Harley Ann. Diane is currently on her second term on council.

Pete Reddekopp, Councilor
Councilor Pete Reddekopp has lived in Radisson and surrounding community for the last 47 years. He has been employed by the town as a maintenance worker on a couple of different occasions. Pete has served on Council as Councillor and Mayor for the last 6 years. He has worked in construction most of his life doing everything from equipment operator to building houses, townhouses, condos, and apartment buildings. Pete has raised a family here and is proud to call Radisson his home. He is looking forward to continuing to serve the town.

Shawn Mitchler, Councilor
A dedicated Member of the Radisson Town Council. Shawn relocated to Radisson in late 1997 and attended Radisson School during its operational years. As a committed member of the community, Shawn appreciates the tranquility that Radisson offers while envisioning growth that maintains the small-town essence. He is family-oriented and enjoys quality time with his nieces and nephew. Shawn is currently serving his second term as a council member.
